Fifty-three businesses, organisations and individuals have secured their place in the final of Wigan Borough Business Awards 2026, following the most competitive year yet.
Following months of entries, independent judging and shortlist interviews, this year’s finalists have now been confirmed across 13 categories, recognising businesses of all sizes including charities, social enterprises and individuals who are making a significant contribution to Wigan Borough.
Reaching the final is an achievement in itself. Every entry has been independently assessed by an experienced panel of judges, who have dedicated hundreds of hours to reviewing applications, scoring submissions and interviewing shortlisted entrants. With the quality of entries continuing to rise year after year, selecting this year’s finalists proved to be an incredibly difficult task.
The organisers would like to extend their sincere thanks to the independent judging panel for the professionalism, expertise and integrity they have brought to the process. Their commitment ensures every entry is judged fairly and consistently, maintaining the credibility and reputation of Wigan Borough Business Awards.
Before the winners are announced, all finalists will be invited to attend a Finalists Celebration, kindly hosted by the GM Business Growth Hub on Tuesday 15th September. The event has been created to recognise the achievement of reaching the final, giving businesses and individuals the opportunity to come together, celebrate their success and build new connections ahead of awards night.
The winners will then be announced at Wigan Borough Business Awards on Saturday 26th September at The Brick Community Stadium, where hundreds of guests from across the borough’s business community will gather to celebrate another outstanding year for local business.
