We’re proud to shine the spotlight on one of our long-standing supporters, Wigan Council, who return as sponsors of the Apprentice of the Year Award 2025 for the second year running.

They have a proud history of supporting apprenticeships and were recognised as a top 100 apprenticeship employer in 2023- the only council in the country to receive that accolade that year.
They offer rewarding careers, a strong focus on work-life balance through their smart working policies, and plenty of opportunities to give back to the borough, including three ‘Community Connections’ days per year.
Why Apprentice of the Year?
It’s no surprise that Wigan Council chooses to sponsor the Apprentice of the Year category. As a leading employer of apprentices and proud holders of the “Best Place to be an Apprentice” title, they are passionate about championing the next generation of talent and helping young people build meaningful, rewarding careers right here in Wigan Borough.
